Summer Withdrawals

Here is how to correctly code students within MMS who are "Summer Withdrawals" or "No Shows". It's important to properly code these students to avoid issues with our dropout numbers.

1. On the E/W/R tab, delete any records for the school year

2. On the "RI Data Elements" and "Programs and Exit/Summer Withdrawal" tab, do the following:
  • Set Enrollment to "W"
  • Set Exit Date to "08/01/2011"
  • Exit Type
    • If you know where the student has gone, fill in the appropriate code. THIS PREVENTS INFLATED AND INACCURATE DROPOUT TOTALS
    • If you do not know where the student has gone, fill in "98"
  • Set Enrollment Date to "08/01/2011"
